Tawa Fry Paneer : Punjabi Dhaba Style (Griddle Fried Paneer)

Method:
1. Cut Paneer into 1 inch cubes and marinate with chilli powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala and salt. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
2. Heat oil on a tawa and add the ajwain and cumin seeds. Let cumin seeds turn golden.
3. Add the onions and sauté till they turn translucent.
4. Add the garlic paste, green chillies, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt and sauté for 2 minutes. DSC01812
5. Add the tomato purée and caraway (shaji jeera) seeds. Cook till the oil separates from the gravy. Keep aside.DSC01813 DSC01816
6. Heat oil on the same tawa.
7. Add capsicum and fry for 3-4 minutes on low-medium heat.DSC01821
8. Fry Paneer on a non-stick tawa.

9. Mix in the fried paneer cubes, fried capsicum and cook for a minute.
10. If you opted for fresh whisked cream, add it now and garam masala and mix gently for a minute.
11. Garnish with coriander and serve hot

Ingredients 200 gms Paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese), cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
1/4 tea spoon chat masala
1/4 tea spoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 tea spoon kasuri methi
1/4 tea spoon carom seeds (ajwain)
1/4 tea spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 medium sized sliced onion
1 1/2 tea spoon garlic paste
1 finely chopped green chilli
1 tea spoon coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1/2 cup Tomato Puree
1/2 cup cream (optional).
–Note: If you like creamy texture of paneer or mild flavors then add cream, important point is the cream should be absolutely fresh.
1 medium sized chopped capsicum
1/4 tea spoon garam masala
1/4 tea spoon black cumin (shahi jeera)
Garnish: 1/2 tea spoon lemon juice.
